Torrensville: fashion haven!

Torrensville: fashion haven

I had to go down West to my old stomping grounds of Torrensville/Mile End yesterday. It’s probably the most multicultural of Adelaide’s inner suburbs as its Greek, German, Italian and Malaysian bakeries, asian and halal groceries and Ethiopian, Indian and Italian restaurants (not to mention the Greek video store and bank!) attest. There are also now a lot of international students renting there, and people from many African nations call the area home. While running my errands yesterday, not only did I get to enjoy the legendary* German fruit buns of Berent’s German Hot Bread Shop (“Since 1934”!), I was also inspired to sketch some of the styles being sported by the locals. These drawings are pen on sketchbook paper with photoshop colour.
